Admissions info night benefitting the Children’s Environmental Health Center

Come hear two of San Francisco's most notable admissions directors talk about the process for getting your kids into preschool or kindergarten. Michelle Lawton, from Stretch the Imagination preschool and Lisa Aquino, from The Hamlin School, will answer all of your questions. The proceeds of the evening benefit The Children's Environmental Health Center, which conducts research to identify the environmental causes of childhood disease.

Baby Sign Language Introductory Workshop

Learn more than 40 basic signs that are based on American Sign Language (ASL).  Discover the important benefits of signing and all the techniques of teaching your pre-verbal baby to sign.  Fun activities and songs will show you how easy it is to integrate simple signs into your everyday routine.

6 Week Playgroup Baby Sign Language Class

Fridays, June 19 - July 31 (no class July 3rd)

This six-week playgroup is a fun opportunity for you to build your signing vocabulary with themes like mealtime, animals, colors, family, bedtime, and more. Playgroup Boom includes the essential basic starter signs and vary in the more advanced vocabulary.  It is recommended that you enroll in the Introductory Workshop prior to taking this playgroup series. 

Early Bird Price: $125 per individual/$185 per couple.

Hop.Skip.Twirl. presented by Tutu School

Hop.Skip.Twirl. classes are an exploration in creative movement, music, and dance, in which kids learn to tell stories with their bodies, to respond to rhythym, and - naturally - to hop, skip, and twirl! Nurturing motor skill growth and devleopment has never before been quite this much fun.

Hop.Skip.Twirl. (3 to 5 years-old)

Hop.Skip.Twirl. Toddlers (18 months to 3 years-old, with caregiver participation)

Classes have a $20 drop in fee.

Let's All Sing Along Music Series

For children newborn to 4 years old. This entertaining music program stimulates a child’s cognitive, emotional, social, language, and physical development by incorporating vocal development, movement, listening and expression. Children experience various instruments, singing, storytelling, and dancing games from around the world. Children will learn about pitch, rhythm, musical notes, symbols and much more!  The drop-in rate will be $20.00 per class. Register online at: www.jannyshappymusicalnotes.com.

Little Folkies Music Classes

Little Folkies is a recreational song-circle for kids and parents created in San Francisco and instructed by active Bay Area musicians. This class features a repertoire of uplifting and down-to-earth folk tunes, both original and traditional, often accompanied by hand-movements, clapping, instrumental jamming, and dancing. These Appalachian / bluegrass inspired songs, composed by class creators Irena and Joshua Smith are favorites amongst families from Little Folkies classes, and are ripe for singing throughout your week to accompany a myriad of everyday activities.

Each class features only acoustic instruments like guitar, banjo and ukulele, a delightful array of nature inspired folk songs for children as well as hands on jamming on child sized instruments like accordions, xylophones, percussion, etc. Students also get instrumental recordings of class material to accompany singing at home.

Music and Yoga with Wee Yogis

Wee Yogis classes are taught by certified Wee Yogis Children’s Yoga teachers. This program introduces kids of all ages to yoga and mindfulness through fun, music, and interactive play. Wee Yogis is also a leader in bringing kids content such as CDs, DVDs, and performances around the world.

This class is designed to teach babies and toddlers the beautiful art of yoga through music and interactive play. Enhance your child’s development, imagination, coordination, listening, and focus through song, movement, and instruments. This playful class is a great chance for you and  your little one to play, connect & grow together.

For children 6 months to 4 years old. The drop-in rate is $15.00 per child.

Pop in, enjoy our playroom, and meet up with other parents and their tots looking to make friends. 

Prenatal Yoga with The Pad Studios

Nicole Cronin (The Pad Studios) is thrilled to offer a weekly weeknight pre/post natal yoga class at Sprout SF beginning Tuesday, April 7th from 6:15-7:15pm. The class is limited to ten lucky pregnant women and/or mothers.

The knowledge you will gain will empower you to be a safe and heart filled practitioner throughout your entire pregnancy or post pregnancy. This informal setting with other yoga mamas will allow you to voice your concerns and ask all the questions you may have about yoga and pregnancy.

Please register in advance. 24 hour cancellation policy strictly enforced.

Cost: $22 for a single class, $100 for five classes
*Please BYOM – bring your own mat! Props will be provided.

Story Time with Jamaroo

JAMaROO Kids’ Storytime Program is designed to enrich children’s imagination and creativity. It is their goal to broaden the student’s experiences of the world in which they live.

They will be providing the students with an introduction to cultures and traditions from all over the world, encouraging them to be respectful to others. Stories can come from the world’s oral traditions, fables, parables, fairy tales, folktales, myths and legends. Using the art of storytelling as well as the use of specially chosen books they bring each story to life. Sometimes this will include the use of puppets and other visual aids. Other times it may incorporate the use of song, dance and/or theater.  These drop-in classes are $10 per family.

Yoga with Jamaroo

Yoga is a fun, healthy, educational, challenging, and noncompetitive activity that children love. Children of this generation live in a fast paced world surrounded by stress and anxiety yoga can help to counter these pressures and teach children how to relax. In JAMaROO Kids Yoga children will work on strengthening their growing bodies and stretching their little muscles, while improving their balance, coordination, and concentration. This class provides children with a great opportunity to discover the joy of exercise and fitness.

Children will use their imaginations to understand yoga poses and learn about nature and world that surrounds them. In JAMaROO kids Yoga children are exposed to a diversity of music from around the world. Through Yoga, children can learn about a different culture. JAMaROO Kids, along with many other educators and parents, believe that yoga can help children build a sense of accomplishment and confidence.
