What is Wheat Straw?

Wheat straw is the stalk left over after wheat grains are harvested. It is one of the most rapidly renewable resources. In some countries, farmers burn it, contributing to air pollution and creating a public health hazard. However, these stalks have great value. We reclaim this material and use it to make our plant-based toothbrushes.

How long do they take to decompose?

The decomposition timeline of wheat straw and other plant-based products depends highly on the composition of the compost, its temperature, and other environmental factors. On average, these products take 90-120 days to decompose, and do better when broken into small pieces. Please don’t forget to break off and recycle the head with the BPA-free, fully recyclable bristles.
